A. The bladder is a muscle and it contracts or tightens to push urine out. Each time the bladder muscle tightens to push it sends messages to your brain telling you to go to the bathroom. Sometimes the bladder muscle tells your brian it needs to toilet too often, even when there is not much urine in the bladder. This is called OVERACTIVE BLADDER (OAB).
